The cigarette consists of a stainless steel shell with a lithium ion battery, micro-electronic circuit, atomising chamber and the inhaler.
It's the inhaler part that's replaceable (as you would buy a pack of cigarettes) so you only buy one electronic cigarette.
The deviceis is slightly longer than a normal cigarette. The mouthpiece contains a replaceable cartridge, the cartridge contains water, propylene glycol, nicotine, a scent that emulates a tobacco flavour and a membrane to suspend the ingredients.
Cartridges are available in various strengths so the user can choose just as you would choose brands with traditional cigarettes.
When the user inhales through the device, the air flow is automatically detected by a sensor, a microprocessor then activates the atomizer which injects tiny droplets of the liquid into the flowing air and vapourises the nicotine.
The vapor mist which is inhaled by the user produces the tactile and craving satisfaction that traditional smokers seek, the simulated smoke harmlessly evaporates into the air within a few seconds with no dangers of passive smoking.
It not only simulates cigarette smoke but also the temperature of common cigarette's smoke (50-60 °C).
The addition of propylene glycol (a harmless and odourless liquid used in food and medicines) to the liquid makes the mist better resemble normal cigarette smoke. The microprocessor also activates an orange LED at the tip to further simulate real smoking.

Cartridge strengths
Each cartridge lasts the equivelent of a pack of 20 regular cigarettes.
The level of nicotine on a regular cigarette packet states apx. 1.1 mg of nicotine.
Therefor 1.1 mg X 20 = 22 mg
The cartridges contain a quantity of very high purity nicotine so the nicotine content is lower than a normal cigarette but with the equivelent potency of a cigarette.
The cartridges are classified into four strengths.
High - Nicotine content - 18 mg
Medium - Nicotine content - 14 mg
Low - Nicotine content - 11 mg
Zero - Nicotine content - 0 mg
Q. What's the use of zero ? I hear you say.
A. A zero cartridge still produces the smoke effect but delivers no nicotine, wheras an empty cartridge will produce no effect.
